Description

The FTDIFuture Technology Devices International FT232H ICIntegrated Circuit is a USB Serial Adapter that converts USB signals to UARTUniversal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter/I2CInter-Integrated Circuit. Also referred to as IIC or I2C./SPISerial Peripheral Interface for 1.8V to 5V systems. It operates at USB 2.0 High Speed and supports baud rates from 300bps to 12Mbps over UART, up to 40Mbytes/s over a synchronous 245 parallel FIFOFirst In First Out interface, or up to 8Mbyte/s over an asynchronous 245 FIFO interface.

This adapter should auto install on most operating systems without the need for additional drivers.

The FT232H IC has power pins (VCC, GND), data pins (TX, RX), control pins (RI, DTR, DSR, DCD, RTS, CTR), and ACBUS GPIOGeneral Purpose Input Output pins (ACBUS0-ACBUS9), defined in the table below. However, some modules may not include some or all of the control pins or ACBUS pins.

DCD Data Carrier Detect input that is usually present inside an RS-232 cable.
RTS Ready To Send control output. This pin is active low.
CTR Clear To Send control input. This pin is active low.
