Description
The Pro Mini 3.3V 8MHz microcontroller board has the ATmega328P MCUMicrocontroller Unit used in the Arduino Uno R3, but in a small form factor to fit inside an enclosure. There is no USB connector and USB-to-Serial converter on the board to make it as small as possible and minimize the cost, so a USB Serial Adapter or another microcontroller board with UARTUniversal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter is required to program the board.

- The Pro Mini has an 8-bit AVRAVR microcontrollers derives its name from its developers and stands for, Alf-Egil Bogen and Vegard Wollan RISC microcontroller, and is also known as Advanced Virtual RISC. processor. The Pro Mini 3.3V board version runs at 8MHz, half the speed of the 5V board version and Arduino Uno R3. A slower resonator was put on the 3.3V board to guarantee safe operation of the ATmega328P (the maximum frequency for safe operation is dependent on the power supply VCC according to the ATmega328P specs).

There are three different power related pins: VCC, RAW, and GND.
- RAW is the input voltage that runs into the regulator and can be anywhere from 3.3V to 16V (4V to 12V recommended) with a maximum current of 150mA at 3.3V.
- VCC is supplied directly to the ATmega328P, so any voltage applied to that pin should already be regulated to 3.3V (6V max, 200mA max).
- GND is the common/ground/0V reference.
