Description
The nRF24L01+PA+LNA RF Module is a long range 2.4GHz transceiver based on the nRF24L01+ chip, with an on board Power Amplifier (PAPower Amplifier) and Low Noise Amplifier (LNALow Noise Amplifier) included in an RFX2401C range extender chip. The PAPower Amplifier amplifies the signal that is being transmitted by the nRF24L01+ chip. The LNALow Noise Amplifier amplifies an extremely weak signal received from the antenna (usually below microvolts or -100dBm) to a more useful level (usually around 0.5V to 1V). This amplification from an external antenna gives an increased range of up to 1100 meters. The operating frequency range of the nRF24L01+ is 2.400GHz to 2.525GHz with as many as 126 communication channels with 1MHz separation. This is a half-duplex transceiver that communicates over SPISerial Peripheral Interface with a selectable baud rates of 250kbpskilobits per second, 1MbpsMegabits per second, or 2MbpsMegabits per second. The nRF24L01+ has built-in hardware CRCCyclic Redundancy Check error detection and an auto-retransmit feature. It has a power supply voltage ranging from 1.9V to 3.6V DC with a current draw that varies with different manufacturers (typical emission current is 115mA). The input data lines are 5V tolerant which allows for direct connection of the SPISerial Peripheral Interface pins to a 5V device such as the Arduino.

Accessories
nRF24L01+PA+LNA Breadboard Adapters
The parallel layout of the 4x4 pin header on the nRF24L01+PAPower Amplifier+LNALow Noise Amplifier module unfortunately is not breadboard friendly. You can use an adapter given below that separates each 4 pin row to connect this module to a breadboard.
- 5x Breadboard Adapter Board
- 5x Female 2x4 Header 2.54mm (0.1") Spacing
- 10x Straight Male 1x4 Header Pins 2.54mm (0.1") Spacing
- 5x Breadboard Adapters
- 10x Breadboard Adapters
nRF24L01+PA+LNA Regulator Adapters
The nRF24L01+PAPower Amplifier+LNALow Noise Amplifier module has a power supply voltage ranging from 1.9V to 3.6V DC, so if you want to power this module with a 5V microcontroller that does not have a 3.3V output, the supply voltage must be reduced with a step-down converter. There are 3.3V regulator adapters designed for the nRF24L01+ module provided in the table below. These adapters can also be useful if your power supply is noisy. A circuit that generates an (RFRadio Frequency) signal is extremely sensitive to power supply noise, which can significantly reduce the range you can achieve. The NRF24L01+ adapters contain both a regulator and filter capacitor to reduce the noise and increase the range of your nRF24L01+PAPower Amplifier+LNALow Noise Amplifier module.

nRF24L01+PA+LNA SMA 2.4GHz Antennas
The nRF24L01+PAPower Amplifier+LNALow Noise Amplifier SMASubMiniature version A (SMA) connector module has an female SMASubMiniature version A (SMA) connector connector for a 2.4GHz external antenna for increased range or to modify the position of the antenna. If the board does not come with an antenna or you want a different antenna (e.g., more power or compact size), you will need a mating male SMASubMiniature version A (SMA) connector 2.4GHz antenna like those listed below.
- 2x 2.4GHz Antenna Male SMA
- 2x 2.4GHz Antenna Male SMA
- 2x U.FL IPEX to SMA Female Cable (15cm length)
- 2x 2.4GHz Antenna Male SMA
- 2x 2.4GHz Antenna Male SMA
- 2x U.FL to Female SMA Cable
- 1x 2.4GHz Antenna Male SMA
- 1x U.FL to Female SMA Cable (150mm / 5.9in)
